Molly's Surgery

Last week, Molly had her first surgery
to begin removing her nevus (birthmark).
We were so blessed to have so many friends and family members
lifting us up in prayer.
Molly had a wonderful surgeon, Dr. Zeineh, who was able to remove about 1/3 of it. The incision is clean and barely noticeable. Molly was a real trooper and game for the adventure. The actual moments before being taken back to the surgical room were a little scary, but she did great, and the staff at Saint Joseph's was wonderful! So caring and compassionate and going to the limits to make sure she was ok and safe.
The procedure lasted only about 45 minutes - just enough time for Earl and I to have some coffee and a muffin.
We then sat with Molly in the recovery
while she came out of the anesthesia.

We arrived at the hospital at 6am and
were on the freeway driving home by 10am.

She did not complain of any pain
and needed no pain medication.
She slept for about 2 hours when we got home
and then moved herself to the couch
where she occupied herself with "Spin and Marty" episodes
until her brothers and sisters came home
(Grandma had kept them over-night and through lunch that day -
"Thanks, Mom!"

Thank you to all of you who prayed.
We were covered in grace for the day . . . once again!
